| Here is a wonderful tobacco jar made by Schierholz of Germany. He is called the Drunken Monkey and he stands 7.5 inches tall. Schierholz was famous for making character steins and they also used the stein molds without the metal parts to make tobacco jars. This jar was made sometime in the late 1800s and it is marked with the crosshatch or tic-tac-toe mark. It is also marked Musterschutz (copyright) on the underside. There is a chip on the inside of the lid which I have pictured but it doesn't show when the head (lid) is in place. A hard to find jar to add to your collection.
